Educate me here please. Is the conversion cylinder .45 LC? The Remington is chambered .44 correct?

Yes, that's correct. They're even available from Howell in 45 ACP.

There are conversion cylinders for the .36 in either .38 spl (which need hollow base bullets or the barrel sleeved to .357) or .38 Long Colt (which are for heeled bullets). If you sleeve the barrel to .357, don't ever try to use the BP cylinder again.

You wouldn't think a half an inch would be very noticeable but it is. And, yes, the 5-1/2" ones are pretty darn good in their own right. LOL, that one was shortened just before the 5-1/2" ones were released.
That's exactly how I feel about the different feel between a 61 Navy and 60 Army. Taking into account the difference in weight between the two, for me its the 1/2" of barrel length. The Navy seems to track on target but the Army feels like I am waiving a wand. Of course there is always a place for any and all 60 Armies that happen my way.
Only Blackpowder is interesting.

LOL, now I'm going to have to find an 1861 and compare the two.
