I have to ask, so there where you live it's legal to go onto public land, pick a safe spot with a safe natural backstop and let rip ?

Gotta love that about the West. #1 thing that has prevented me from moving to Texas, etc, is the niggardly amount of land that is public use. Gotten used to my millions of acres of BLM-managed lands out here in the PNW.
(to be fair, it's deeper than the PNW, I'd say most of the "Western 11" + MT/WY/ND/SD, etc qualify there).
