Beautiful axe, Marshal! You no longer play? :icon_scratch:
Thanks, Cap. Too many times trashing fingers and shoulders. That fine control on the strings just isn't there anymore. I wasn't all that good to start with so it isn't a great loss. I'm much better at building than playing, anyway.

I have found through the years you don't have to be really good to enjoy yourself!

Mick and Mike, those pistols are gorgeous!! I love the shorter barrels.

I have to agree with Marshal, the 72 is my #1 favorite revolver. I'd choose it over the SAA any day.

And Hawg, no one is tired of your picks my friend!

More beautiful '72s.

Mike, Cap, Dave, those look to have Army grips.

EM, that looks like a Navy grip.

I didn't realize that both were available. Is the Navy grip on the .38s?

Googly moogly, those sure look great!

Hawg, that is a clean pistol you had, there.

I had that gun for about five years and it got used a lot. I had probably had it a year or two when that pic was taken I usually tell people not to try to time one so the bolt drops directly into the notch but that one did. That brass frame at the bottom is the same way. It was made in 1976 and there's not a mark on the cylinder. You can tell it's been used a lot by the discoloration that won't come off without being polished. BTW that's the one I almost ruined with 25 grain charges.

Mine is what Uberti calls an 1871 Navy Open Top.

1871 or 1872 or 1871-72 are all acceptable. The first open tops came with navy grips. When Colt offered them to the army for trials they went to the army grip. When they went to the 1873 they went back to the navy grip. AFAIK the navy 72's only had the navy grip. My .38 is called a RM by Uberti but it's actually a little bit RM and a little bit 72.
