Good eye Marshal. yes, mine is an Army grip as well. When I was looking at them in the various ads, it seemed that the .38 chambered guns had Navy grips and the .44's and .45's had Army sized grips.

Here is my 1851 Navy Colt Richards .38 conversion made by American Frontier Firearms. Firing pin is in the conversion ring with the rear sight on top and not on the barrel. It still has the loading lever like the "Man with No Name" revolvers made later by another manufacturer. I bought it in 1999. The loading lever often drops when firing so I contacted Walt Kirst in an email and asked if either one the cartridge ejectors he sells for Pietta and Uberti Navy revolvers would fit and he replied that he was uncertain if they would as AFF's Dave Anderson used Armi San Marco parts to build his guns. So I'm kind of hesitant to purchase one. If anyone has experience with that I sure would like to know.

My biggest concern is that when I pass away, my wife will sell my guns for what I told her I paid for them.

That's mighty nice looking. If it was polished before plating, maybe the notch in the ramrod keeper got rounded off. Perhaps that can be recut slightly with a fine file.

That's beautiful Bishop Creek! Thank you for sharing. I'm sure someone here will know about this AFF. I'm anxious to hear more about it.

Thanks Marshal, that might be worth a try.

Yessir.
Thanks. They seem to do the best job of re-creating the original grip shape(s). I feel that other than the arbor length needing to be corrected, they are better made than Piettas. The arbor fix is no big deal.
