Collector?!
« on: February 05, 2014, 03:37:25 PM »
In the next thread below this one, the good Capt'n defines collector. I feel I fall someplace in between collector and shooter. Are there vintage guns of mine that I haven't shot? Yep, also there are vintage guns of mine that I do shoot. The good Capt'n also suggests that if there are no pictures, then it never happened. OK, here goes, here is my '78 Colt DA in need of some internal work:

Now, some of you may have seen these guns on a different thread, but they are all Colts!.

And then a couple of semi autos:

This is a first year production model 1900, in 38 Colt Auto, forerunner of the 1911.

And a 1903 hammerless 32 ACP:

OK, I'll stop for now and let someone else show off their collection. Thanks for looking!

V e r r r y  nice Mazo. My 'collection' is only 5 or 6 handguns, but I like what I have. As I've said before, none are real Colts, but they all shoot and make noise and smoke. That's what counts for me. You have a nice collection, my friend. )k*

Pretty impressive Mazo.  I'd be pretty happy to own just one of those Thunderers.

Mike, I haven't bought a Thunderer for several years now, what with the rising prices. Funny thing is, many years ago I thought they were about the ugliest thing Colt made! My thinking has done a 180 degree change!

I know what you mean about ugly but I think their unique design is what makes them attractive.  Now that they bring premium prices I bet your're glad you bought a few when you did.

You are absolutely right! Seems like everything gun related is inching upward. :'(

Mostly inching but some things like collectable Colts have taken a few leaps over the years.
