Happy Independence Day!
« on: July 04, 2023, 10:21:30 AM »
This custom made flag is a replica of the first American flag to fly during the Battle of Yorktown ("Siege of York"), Virginia in 1781 with Gen. Washington's troops.

My four times great-grandfather was there with his militia company from the frontier of western Virginia and saw British Gen. Cornwallis surrender to Washington.

I fly this flag at my home during every American holiday.
My biggest concern is that when I pass away, my wife will sell my guns for what I told her I paid for them.

That's a very special flag! How cool that your G-G-G-G-Grandfather was there to see Cornwallis' surrender.

A gal on one of the local "group" or "marketplace style FB pages posted up last night, bragging up and imploring us to come out the fireworks show she is putting on. I piped up "I'm a quasi professional p[hotogrpaher, looking for a show to shoot" Guess who set his tripod and pointlessly unneccessary up this morning in "their" area?
Yup... SHOULD BE LIT!!!!!! (pun intended).

Last nights efforts 3/4 mile from launch zone, different city, different event. Marsing, ID celebrated it's centennial yesterday, Idaho celebrated it's 133 year old birthday yesterday, and it was pre Independence day.

Enjoy:

We can't all get together and enjoy libations around the fireworks, so I'll bring you a virtual show.

Updated the Caldwell album with "pullback" (behind the scenes shot of my set up on the AV trailer) shots, and fireworks.
