Adding to the hoard
« on: July 31, 2023, 08:04:36 AM »
I went to a gun show Saturday for the first time in years.   It was mostly unremarkable but I did find a guy selling a bunch of powder flasks.    I grabbed a few because they were cheap.  I'm a sucker for the small pistol size ones but I also had to buy the larger molded leather one.   The seller claims to have at least ten more boxes full of flasks in storage.

The bottom one is most interesting,  but I like the leather one too.  None of them are Italian repros but they don't have any other marks that I can find either.

Those are nice flasks Mike.  I love how they took the time back then to include aesthetic features on many every day tools.
Only Blackpowder is interesting.

Great score, Mike. Congratulations. They're all really beautiful. The leather one is most intriguing.

Those are nice. Usually if a flask has brass screws they're reproductions. There were a lot of marked and unmarked flasks coming out of India and Greece in the 60's and 70's.
