Just another boring El Camino post
« on: January 24, 2024, 11:34:55 AM »
Sorry to bore you guys with car stuff.....but this is where I've been spending all my time and money. Thankfully this part of the project is getting closer to being done. I'm just hoping the bank account holds up to actually finish the thing. I've got more hours in this than I'll ever reveal, and some incredible help along the way.

Not bored at all. Was some time since you last gave us an update on the project. Looking mighty fine! That greenish coating is great looking and if I read the pics right, there's a gradual shift to yellowish at the rear end, suttle. Keep at it!

It's actually all one color......the pearl added to the paint changes the color a bit depending on the light.

Frikkin' outstanding! That looks almost like an original color.

Love cars of that era. Those wheels go nicely on it. Like Cragers did back in the day.

Yeah Will, it is close to a stock 65 color, just a touch darker it the right light.

I've always like the Cragar look too.....had these American Racing wheels for a while.

Looks sharp, I miss applying coatings to rigs. Sigh.

Those American Racing wheels always look good on the right car. Yours is one of those. They still make those Cragers, too. Of course now they're drilled for each manufacturer's lug pattern. I remember the originals were made with slotted holes that radiated out at an angle so one pattern would fit most makes.

Not the ones I had in the 70's and 80's. Keystones were uni lug. American Racing wasn't.

The ones I saw mid 60's were machined that way. Obviously they changed that fairly soon. I only saw it on Cragers.

Sorry for the edit. I accidentally hit the wrong button. It's now put back the way it was.
