...When the Lady of the House takes over the indoor one...
The first home Herself and I had included an out house. The place was built in 1853. When the plumbing came into the house, the bathroom was installed in the basement. In the 1950's, an addition was made to the house and the bathroom was moved upstairs. Herself and daughter used that one. I prefered the basement but was happy the outhouse was still usable many times while working outside.
My basement bath had a good sized sink and a clawfooted tub. Having the water heater close by didn't hurt either. Basement was hand dug and unheated. It made for a refreshing shave!
