The one thing that concerns me about these holsters is the unknown...what tanning method was used, dyes, etc. Things that can affect the finish on your gun.

An ol'e story from the late 1990ies.
I was in MI, visiting. They knew I had western trained horses and asked if I would like to see their local saddle factory. Wow, wouldn't I?
It turned out they only produced English saddles. Frames imported from Britain and leather from Spain. Nice and well crafted allright, but not my cup of tea.
Then I saw this McClelland saddle sitting up on a shelf and my interest was awakened. They took it down and I examined it. Cheap thing made in India. Nothing I would present to my horses.
I kept my well behaved appearance and bought a saddle pad and a Navajo blanket.
Bottom line: Western stuff should be made in US or Mexico. That's a fact.

I know nothing about saddles but I do know holsters and boots. You mention Mexico and the U. S. Why not Canada?  They still have large cattle operations and Rodeos?

I know a lot of cheap Mexican leather is urine tanned. It's heavy grade leather and extensively tooled but get it wet and it stinks to high heaven. I would assume Indian leather to be the same.
