Thanks for the info Richard. I have the Kirst .22 cylinder in my 1860 Colt Army, just thinking about getting the 1851 Yank to use it in.
My biggest concern is that when I pass away, my wife will sell my guns for what I told her I paid for them.

I notice the [dixie] price for these is in my opinion leastwise a bit steep at well over 300 bucks for a 51 that has half the work done to the barrel and an even push on the grips.

Ho hum ... may need to fire up the hack saw again and search out a birds head grip ... or maybe do a mod on the grip frame i have.

Just what i needed ... nother project.

Hi, a video on how to screw up a perfectly good 1851 Navy:

Want a real belly gun, get the Pietta 1851 Yank in .44 caliber.

Richard

Hi bigted, I intend on sighting in the Yank poi=poa @25yds with .45 Colt conversion cylinder. I hope that after sighted in that the tall sight will fit my Yank's LetherSmithMike's holster:

Regards,
Richard

Hi, the Pietta 1851 Yank was sighted in today to have poi=poa @25yds using .45 Colt conversion cylinders. The sight needed to be filed down to about half and the revolver now fits in my LeatherSmithMike's holster. The sighted in Yank:

Now that the weather has warmed up, I can get back to sighting in revolvers with new taller front sights. Unfortunately, when the weather gets good in the spring, the black flies come out.  :'( :'(

Regards,
Richard

Really nice and very informative Richard. Love the look of those grips.
