I'm a new guy here, not new to guns or black powder, but new here. I recently became interested in collecting percussion revolvers, nobody warned me it was a disease. About a month ago I bought a Colt third generation 1861 Navy Custer commerative. But there was a problem with it. It had the right engraving, the correct carved grips, but all my books and the Colt catalog said it should have a silver finish. This has what I would call a Colt royal blue finish with gold filled engraving. I took a shot in the dark and e mailed Henry arms because I knew the Imperatos ran Colt blackpowder arms. A couple of days later I received a nice reply from Kevin Maguire from Henry's customer service department stating that I had the right gun some were blued some were silver the blued being the more rare of the two. mystery solved. I'm going to try to post a picture I hope it works.
