Hi, just a note to let you know that Old South Firearms is offering a .22 Kirst conversion cylinder for Colt 1851 and 1860s. See:

IMO it has the same issue as the .22 1858 conversion cylinder, too short a barrel for any accuracy.

Just a tad pricey also, I agree on the barrel length also.
