Brand new to BP revolvers is this stuff any good ?

Soap and hot water work better.   Some use plain rubbing alcohol for cleaning.   I don't believe it is worth the money to buy anything special for cleaning BP.

+1 on what Mike said...I used to buy all the new stuff on the market, but in the end plain old hot hater and dish soap (Dawn or equivalent grease cutter) work just as well. Of course, it means learning how to take your replica apart, but it's all part of the game. You might as well get used to it!
