Howdy - excited to find this site.  I am very interested in bp wheel guns - open tops in particular.  I have everything I need to shoot (finally) except powder and a non-ferrous nipple pick.  As far as open tops, I have 4 Piettas:  2x 1851s, 1x 1860, and 1x 1861 which is visiting the Goon in Georgia at the moment.  I have been reading some books on bp pistols, Colts, and basic gunsmithing for bp - very excited to learn more about it from you knowledgeable folks!   :-*


not pictured are 1861 being Goonerized, 1858, and ss 1858.

Thanks for the welcome!  I have been reading many of the excellent posts on here - very informative!

Stillwater - I have not shot these yet - just collected them for 2 years and been educating myself about them.  I am interested in their history and am also reading about some gunsmithing. I am interested to shoot at Angeles Range - I understand they allow bp and also that they sell Goex 3f sometimes.  Have you shot there?  Where do you recommend shooting around here?

Of all the places I used to shoot, Angeles shooting ranges is the only one that is still open. It should still be a good place to shoot.
