Thanks Zulch; Merry Christmas to you and yours too!
I actually ordered it last night. It might arrive before I even get to shoot my new to me Dragoon, and I'll get to shoot them both in the same session.
I would like to get both a full length barrel and a snub barrel for it. Or, maybe I'll buy a snub with the birdshead grip and a spare full length barrel.

Yup. That's a Deuce, alright. Short arbor?
It's not bottoming on the face of the cylinder, although it could be on the frame. I'll have to check by dropping a shim down the arbor hole. Haven't really had a chance to play with it yet.

Local guy wants $300 for a 25 year old Uberti 3rd Dragoon.  Doesn't look too beat up from pics.
Are you gonna grab it?

I'd like to see a brass dragoon. (7+"
Yeah, it would probably fall apart from its own weight!  (7&

Happy birthday! So, at what age does geezerdom commence?

The 'soft line' begins at plus-sixty. 65 is the hard line. No going back and you're too far gone to fake it.

Here is a pic of the three revolvers the guy had for sale. My Dragoon is on the bottom. In that light it almost looks like brass, but it's not. The Navy in the middle is, though. Some else bought that one.

So it looks like I'm going to be getting a Uberti Dragoon. I think it's a 2nd model. Used, but I don't know how old it is.
WECSOG. Have you gotten the Dragoon yet? looking forward to seeing it.
Not yet. Seller pm'd me yesterday that it is on its way.

I had a 3rd model dragoon. It's a handful of pistol but a popsiclecat to shoot. There's two styles of lever latch. A vertical latch and a latch like the 51 navy. The vertical latch is bad about dropping. I "think" the navy style latch is better about not dropping.
Do you know when they changed from one latch type to the other? Was it one of the upgrades to the Second or Third model?

One of the things I like about the Dragoons is they still have that "Colt" feel to them. For such a large gun they handle pretty well. Walkers, however, are a different ballgame.
I don't think I have ever handled a Dragoon although I was really interested in them when I first got into c&b revolvers about 50 years ago.

I just got a pm from the seller informing me that he received my check and it's on its way! So, hopefully I'll soon have it in my grubbies.

This is to show the size.

RIP, Mazo. This is a very cool snubby you built. I've seen it before, but just stumbled across it again and thought I would bring it to the forefront for those who may not have seen it. I like home gunsmithed creations like this, and if it has visible wear, so much the better!

I just got off the phone with Kenn Womack and he said he has to make the slider for the rear sight and my parts will ship out Monday. <={

This is how it looks without the nose cap.

Now where's that "Like" button?
