Yep, .45 ACP does reasonably well from a snub barrel.

They work great with shot loads for use against snakes and small vermin. Also lots of fun for just plinking.
I even have a cap and ball .22  NAA revolver, and like it a lot too.

I do both, buy/stockpile and make caps. Same for powder. I like to have enough store-bought caps and powder so I can head out to my backyard shooting range or into the woods beyond anytime I wish, without worrying about depleting my supply. And I also like shooting my homemade BP and homemade caps, and homemade bullets/balls with no ding at all to my store bought stash. For that, I usually use my single shot frontstuffer pistols. I can shoot them cheaper than .22 rimfire.

I went to an LGS here in town and he sells individual 100 cap tins. I try to support local businesses. I had bought a couple of tins from him a good while back. His price then for a tin of #11 CCI were about $7.95. His price is now $12.95 a tin.  :icon_scratch:
I bought some anyway. He doesn't sell bulk.
Yeah, I think that's kinda the going price right now. I've seen them in a local Academy for about that. Occasionally they pop up for less, though. If I hadn't found those Remingtons I probably would have bought some $110 per thousand CCIs when the free shipping and free hazmat sales were going on. Maybe add a few lbs of BP too.
Some of the Walmarts near me have slots for caps at less than $6 per tin, but I haven't managed to get there while they had stock yet. But things are looking up.

Caps seem to be somewhat more available than before, and prices are creeping down slowly. I recently bought 1000 Remington 10s for under $100.

It being bought from Jedediah Starr it could have been on the shelf awhile. That's not a criticism I just think a lot of folks wanting a newer gun may use bigger shops like Midway? Odd that there isn't a date code present though.

No date code and the CIP/PN stamp instead of the PN under a star says it's a newer gun. It probably has the year under the trigger guard and may possibly have a date code somewhere else like under the lever.
I just looked under the lever and sure enough, there it is! 2022. It probably has it under the trigger guard too, or somewhere else hidden on the receiver.

What's the date stamp?
I'm not finding it on this one. It has the usual PN under CIP, but I don't see a date stamp. It does have a serial number on the bottom, though. Any ideas?

Probably. Not much leverage there.

I like it so far. Action is nice, timing is good, feels good in my hand. Nice balance too, with the shorter barrel. I like the balance of the full length Army; this is different but still good.
I held the Dragoon in one hand and this one in the other and it made the Dragoon seem massive!
I also did that with this Army and my '58 Remmy Sheriff. Not too much difference there, but the action is nicer on the '60.

I'll post up pics if they ever deliver it. I think the UPS driver waits around until I have to go somewhere, then runs up and slaps a note on my door.  :head2wall:
WECSOG, did the Sheriff show up? Hope so.
Not yet. Still waiting.
What? You better have a rope handy when the ups man gets there??
