Title: This topic needs some injection.
Post by: Hewy on December 10, 2016, 02:12:59 PM
Here is my latest project. I have had this , in a lot rougher condition than the photo, for about
40 years . I gave another finished Matchless a 1966 to my son in Colorado,
so forces me to pull out my 1958 that will  look like the finished bike in the photo.
It is a 650 cc twin which is the first year for a 650 in the Matchless line up.
So here it is when it gets finished.........try to get it done 2017.....sometime. L@.

Sweet! A true classic twin. I have a few project bikes on the back burner yet.

This was my first British bike. Then many more came and went as the years went by. Did a lot of riding on a whole
variety of motorcycles, and sailed and built cars and couple of trucks.
Haven't got a clue why I never got this 1st one up and running, just too many projects ,cars .trucks ,work life
that kind of stuff.
Now in my" golden time" this is my last bike , probably won't ride it , just love those old machines.

Well, since we are talking about bikes...
I have a few, and have owned and sold a few myownself! I reckon I could share.

Here's my '84 Nighthawk "S" CB700. Purchased for a couple hundred because the seat was torn and it didn't run. A couple of bent exhaust valves and seized carbs will do that...This was the second NH S I owned, I flipped the other one to get the cash to fix this'n...

And I've saved the best for last, naturally...
My main ride...1999 Buell M2 Cyclone. Full Buell factory race kit, Mikuni HSR-42 flat slide carb, Andrews N8 cams, tach kit, shifter upgrade and now sporting a new Baker Easy Shift shift drum kit. Estimated HP between 110-115, this thing is fantastic to ride and handles like a dream.

All I can say is.....WOW! I rode for several years, but never had a "big" bike. My last one was a Honda CB325 with the upswept pipes on the side. Sold thatvtoo cheap!

That would probably be the CL350, Em. Had me a few of them too back in the day.

Thanks, Len. That pic was taken in 2013...time flies when you're having fun. It also flies when you honk on the barber pole of that thing!
