I just traded for a DBL, SXS, 12 gauge Damascus shot gun. in excellent shape. I got 4 brass hulls with it. it functions fine. it has 30 inch barrels. bored FULL AND MODIFIED. has any one ever herd of the manufacture, it id marked, SPENCER GUN Co.?
-
it is also a break open gun with rabbit ears/ hammers. just a very little pitting/ minimal in the rite barrel as we all know that is the barrel that gets shot first and most, then reloaded and shot again when a second shot is not needed. it has two and a half inch chambers. and about 75 percent finish. it closes up just like a CADILLAC DOOR!!. any one have any knoweledge of a ball park figure on them? and no I cannot post picture's of it because my BANG & OLUFSEN won't let me do it. sorry. toot.

Here's a link to the Shotgun World forum and an older post......read down a few posts to get to some into about a Spencer SXS. Not sure if that helps.

I would measure the chamber depth. Chances are they are shorter than 2-3/4", probably 2-9/16".
-
Chambers are probably 2 1/2 but could be as much as 2 5/8.
-
The chambers on my 12 ga. hardware store shotgun are 2 1/2 inch.
-
my chambers are 2 1/2 in long. I have measured them., and arm shooting brass hulls in it with BP, of course.

Miguel Loco, that is a great site. it answered all of my questions about the gun.

Mike116, 2 & 1 half seems to be the norm in these hardware shot guns. although. they have to be measured.
