I thought I remembered a hatchet in the garage, so went looking for it today. Yep, I found it! I will post a picture or 2 when I get it presentable tomorrow.

This one is not very pretty! It is quite pitted as you can see.

OAL.

I did searches for hatchets....roofer, carpenter, lather, etc. Nothing came up that looked like this one.... until I searched for boy's hatchet.

I found this over 40 years ago, in a small field in back of my first house in town. Does anyone think this could be a BSA hatchet? There appears to be 3 letters in a circular pattern over another emblem, but I can't make them out. The deeply pitted edge.

This head is smaller than the other one I posted.
-
This appears to be a cast steel head as evidenced by the mold lines.

That could be a Boy Scout hatchet Em. It's the right size, and it has the notch in it. It should say "Official Boyscout Axe" up at the top and have the "Be Prepared" emblem in the middle of the head above the handle.

very cool... not sure if it is a boy scouter... perhaps after you clean it up a bit we can take a peek?
