That is quite a .44 there Mick!! Nice engraving. I can't imagine the value of that. Is it yours? :cowboypistol:

Nope..... a guy wants to sell it to me. It's a Uberti....with a Colt booklet. I've just never seen that stamp on the grip....and not sure if it's a 3rd Gen or not.

Definitely a first for me👍👍

I don't see a date code.....he's sending me these pics....trying to do the best I can without having it in my hands

It's not a Colt, it has Italian proof marks. The engraving is nice, very nice. I don't know how to value something like that. From the booklet and the case I imagine he's trying to pass it off as a Colt and get more than it's worth. BTW The Hale Ranches is a real working ranch with over 3000 acres in Texas.

Holy cow! That thing is gorgeous!

That's a fine one, Mick. I hope you can come to an agreeable deal. As to what it's worth, the only comparison I have is the Buffalo Bill Engraved one offered by Taylors for $750+ but the engraving is no where as nice as on this one. That one doesn't appear to be engraved on the frame, just the barrel and grip frame. Do you know anyone who does engraving who can give you an idea of what it would cost to do that amount of engraving?
-
Maybe you can contact the Hale Ranches and see if they have any knowledge about it.
-
Yeah, I was in the same boat yesterday, just unable to put a solid value on it.
I appreciate the help. I'll probably just let it go, don't really need it at home or in the shop. Unless he can put a price on it that is too good to pass up.

Sorry Mick, I hit modify on your post instead of reply.
Curious here, would you shoot it if you bought it?
-
I shoot all my guns....so yes I would.

I don't....of we proceed any further, I'll just get ahold of Greg at Cimarron....he's seen them all...including hand engraving. But those guns are usually 2 to 4 thousand....way outta my league. Lol

Remember that used guns, except collector pieces, generally go for less than new or the invested amount. I'm with you that for the right price it would be a good one to have.
