Smokeless Repeaters / Re: Mauser 71/84 Repeater

Nope, it is in it's original caliber 11.15×60mmR Mauser (.43 Mauser).
And was originally issued to the 2nd Grenadiers "King Frederick William IV" Reserve Regiment based in Stettin as part of II Army Corps.

There was no grime on this stock or else were, what you're seeing is essentially a brand new original condition rifle.  It was issued but stored very well and never used. Never had cosmo touch it.

Yep it is a 9mm. I had found it in a footlocker.

Picked this item up at a local garage sale.  I will let the pictures talk:

The revolver started of as a 1988 Pietta 1860 Colt.  I changed the barrel to a 51 style thus producing a hybrid:

Then Pietta improved the 51 grip dimensions, so that was added as well as a new set of internals and a Kirst gated cylinder in 45 Colt:
and here is the final result:

My observations:  Today's internals are way better in quality to those of 1988.
It turned a heifer of a revolver into something that is lively in the hand.

Also on both of my old Vaquero's I have added Power Custom hammers with half cock notches, Cresent ejectors, and Colt like base pins.

If the serial number begins as xx- that is the old model, the new one's serials begin with xxx-.  Plus the hammer on the new ones just does not look right compared to the old models.

Picked up from a consignment, always liked the early ones. A Type 1 from 1906!

Never did jump on the 44 Mag bandwagon - always had a soft spot for the 45 Colt.
Here are my two Vaqueros:

The stainless Vaquero originally had a Bisley grip, but I swapped it out and put it in my Single Six.

Thanks guys, I am a bit eclectic when it comes to my collecting - I love both old and new.  Funny item about the Super Redhawk - when I first got it, it had that target gray finish that Ruger pushed at the time.  The first thing I did was polish it back to a satin finish.

Decided to compare my recently acquired Uberti Walker with my Ruger .454 Super Redhawk.  Tossed in a bowie for a little color.

Much like current Uberti's, the manufacturers name and "Blackpowder Only" is stamped under the loading lever.  Plus they have Colt's name stamped on the cylinder.
