Wow I was disapointed yesterday, Went to a local Sportsmans Warehouse store looking for a Uberti 58 Remington. Now this store used to carry both Pietta and Uberti at decent prices. Now all they carry is Traditions which i assume is manufactured by Pietta. 350 bucks for the 58 and the fit, finish and action were horrible. Wont be goin back,

Just read this ,Regarding how long a cap and ball can be left loaded From an article i found in an old arms magazine about Robert E Lee.....
The Confederate general carried an 1851 Colt Navy and the gun almost immediately made the commentaries (i.e. print news) after the war as an object of public fascination. According to Flaydermans Guide To Antique American Firearms, when the gun was shot in 1870 after the Generals death, every chamber fired as was, last loaded during the middle of the War seven years prior.

Ya know you should have been born 150 years ago. I says Well if i had been born 150 years ago i would a been dead long afore now. She looks to the Heavens and just grins and sighs............. Dont think i'm a goin to sleep fo a while.....
