Here is a report on the wax bullets from this post:
https://blackpowdersmoke.com/colt/index.php/topic,3879.0.htmlYou are supposed to drill out the primer pockets to make the hole larger and then you just shoot these with primers and no powder of any kind. However, I did not drill out the primer hole since I was only going to take a few shots just to try it out. I just used normal .45 Colt cases and a CCI Large Pistol Primer. The wax bullets are just pressed in by my thumb. Very simple.
I took one test shot and then loaded up all six, thus there are seven shots on the target. The target was about five yards away. The first shot was fired from a sandbag rest because I just wanted to see first if it would even hit the target. It did and so the next six shots were loaded up and fired from the hip. I must say it was a blast(no pun intended).
The wax bullets hit the plywood target and bounced back. Some of them broke into pieces while some remained intact. I have to say one must be careful of ricochet with these. All of the bullets and pieces landed behind me, meaning they hit the target and bounced back. Definitely wear eye protection, which I did.
