1873 SAA Colts / Picked up my first SAA
« on: January 22, 2021, 11:08:52 PM »
Got this today. It’s a Pietta imported by EMF.  Saw it in the used section and couldn’t pass it up. Normally I shoot cap and ball revolvers but I guess it’s time for me embrace modern technology

NEW MEMBER CHECK-IN / Adding a new pistol to the collection
« on: July 17, 2020, 05:23:42 PM »
I wasn’t planning on getting another revolver any time soon but I came across a guy selling a walker colt so I went to check it out. After seeing it in person I knew I had to buy it. The thing is huge, you can’t really tell in the photos but it’s like holding a cannon. I took it out shooting once but soon found out that the arbor is to short and it needs to be shimmed. Sent it to a guy to have it fixed and the action slicked up a bit. Can’t wait to get it back, so much fun to shoot

Welcome Wagon / Greetings from Southern California

Hello all,

Went from 0 black powder guns to a pair of them in just under a week. I started by picking up a Remington 1858. It’s a nice gun I like it a lot. After buying all the extras you need for black powder shooting I said  to myself “ I can’t have all this stuff for just one gun”. So I decided to pick up a colt navy in .36 cal. I love how involved black powder shooting is, it’s not just load and shoot. Tomorrow will be my first outing with my Remington, my colt is in the mail and I won’t get to shoot it until next week. I’ll let you guys know how it does.

Hey gang,

I just got my first colt black powder pistol. It’s a 1851 colt navy .36 steel frame. I love the look of this gun. Reminds me of my favorite spaghetti western’s. I’m really excited to take it out and see how it shoots.
