Just "updated" 3 of Kaido's revolvers that had been here years ago. One of them only had flats in it  .  .  .  Including the hand spring (that was a LOOOONG time ago!!!) !
So, they're all "up to snuff" now!!

Pics coming  .  .  .

Gunsmithing/Parts & Repairs/Refinishing / ROA hand (pawl) stores
« on: June 19, 2017, 12:13:04 PM »
For those of you that shoot ROAs, a pawl (hand) can be fab'ed from a Blackhawk (3 screw)  pawl. These parts are extremely hard and can easily be broken if you try to stretch a worn pawl without heating it first. If you do break it, you can fab one from a Blkhwk pawl. It must be thinned to the demention of the original (they are somewhat thinner!). You also have to grind away the second finger and some material so that you can create a "reach"  to closely match the original profile. Then you can shorten the pawl to the full cock/cyl lock-up length and restore (or for the first time) perfect timing!

I decided I needed to set up my 3  ROAs to have the exact same timing so I could look for any differences as things progress with a project I'm working on. Yesterday, I did the above operation to correct the timing on one of two that needed correcting. Fortunately, swapping the pawl of that one was all that was needed to correct the other one. Now, all 3 of the ROAs exhibit perfect timing.

Army Models / Dedicated Fanner Special
« on: November 20, 2015, 04:53:39 AM »
I just finished this fanner for a  customer. It is a " dream gun" he's always wanted.
It features interchangeable barrels and cylinders  which any  combination of  yields a barrel /cylinder clearance of .0015"  which allows its dry-firing capability! ! Talk about a fun gun!!

Gunsmithing/Parts & Repairs/Refinishing / Goons Gunworks Offer
« on: June 08, 2014, 09:41:49 PM »
Hey folks!
Many of you all know me from Gunslingers but for those that dont, I would like to offer the same offer to this forum that I offered Gunslingers ( since Im a member here too!!!). For the next 2 weeks I will do a full "Goons Gunworks" tune ( like the one I did for Brushhippies Video shooting the '51) for $85.00 !
The list is long but includes: an action stop, bolt block, cap pin (some call it a rake), arbor length correction/ isolation, arbor set screw for wedge adjustment, springs tuned for a very light but crisp action and the bolt "sculpted" to reduce weight and allow earlier than normal locking notch engagement with perfect timing. Barrel / cyl. gap set at .002-.0025 to keep arbor/ cyl. from binding. There's also a 2 pound trigger job as well , your gun wil be a much more tame, fast handeling, longer lasting animal!!!

You can email me at.  goonsgunworks@gmail.com

Thank you,
Mike (45 Dragoon)
