Cabela's has Remington #10 Percussion caps in stock as of this posting for $12.99 /100.   I just ordered 500.   Total was $70+ change,  shipped to store for pick up in 4 days.    No hazmat if you can pick up in store.   Otherwise add $25 for hazmat charges.

Crazy Crow is a good place too.   I used to get catalogs from them but they may have quit.   Everything is online now.  I haven't bought anything there for years so they may have dropped me from the list.

Did you get that sheath from a girl named Cheyenne Tremblay?
She does some pretty good stuff at reasonable prices.

Mike,

They all look good.  Do you also make book covers? Or book covers that will hold a revolver?

Kevin

I have made some book covers.  Mostly for journals and things like that.   The hidden revolver thing might require some finesse but I think I could figure it out.

Cool!  How thick is the buffalo hide?

The Buffalo hide was about 8 oz.  which would be 1/8th inch.   The rifle sling is 2 ply with the flesh side (suede or rough side) on the side resting against your shoulder.   The rough side does not slip as easily as the grain side.

I lucked into one of these not long ago.  I've shot about 40 or so rounds through it.   It's a really fun little gun to play with.   Bring along a full size NMA to shoot at the same time.   Comparing the two side by side is a lot of  fun.

The aluminum Fiocchi can is the only one I haven't seen before.

I went through an antique store to kill some time while waiting on my grandkids yesterday and I found three cap tins for my collection.  All three were ones I don't have.   Nothing exciting but I've never seen this CCI tin and I've never seen a Fiocchi percussion cap tin that was not labeled Alcan on it somewhere,  this Fiocchi can is aluminum.   I've seen the green & white label but never a light blue one.    The CCI tin and the Fiocchi tin are nearly full.

I have several revolvers I bought new, both Pietta and Uberti.    There is no consistency in the size of caps that work with each revolver.   I always have four sizes of caps with me.   That's the argument for Slixshot nipples.  Change all your nipples to Slixshot which are sized for #11 caps.    Look at the link below for a list of the caps that Slixshot says fit their nipples.

I can't afford $40 per revolver so I'll keep carrying several sizes of caps

I imagine a lot of people are like me. I just bought one because the left doesn't want me to have one.

This is true.    I obtained mine when a liberal leaning town near here banned anything with a handgrip and 10+ round magazine.

Coyotes are pretty timid down here. No badgers, porcupines or prairie dogs. I used a 30-06 for hogs. Nothing but a range toy for me. My opinion is mine, nothing more.

I don't think it .223 is a great cartridge either but the rifles and the ammo are inexpensive so the popularity will continue until the ammo or the rifles are unobtainable.    I have a .243 that I prefer anyway.

If you live out West here you see thousands of coyotes dispatched every year with .223 AR style rifles.   Most ranchers have one as their truck gun.    Badgers, prairie dogs porcupines and thousands of feral hogs are also taken with AR rifles in .223.
Ruger has sold millions of Mini 14 and Ranch rifles in .223 caliber.    There may be better choices but .223/5.56 has proven to be a popular varmint cartridge and not just a range toy.

Mike,

Do you have any moonclips for the 45 ACP cartridge?

Kevin

No Sir,  I don't.

I’m going to continue to make em. Even if they show up in stores. I guess I’m a contrarian

I am now prepared for the worst.   I have lots of powder,   I have what is necessary to make powder,  and now I could make caps if I need to.
I have no plans to make either one,  but my back up is in place.
I received 500 RWS 1075  caps on Wednesday from Powder Valley Inc.  Very Fast shipping by the way.

Thanks again to Rick for doing the hard work.   I would not have bothered if not for his thread.   I too hope this could bring more interest to this forum.
