Interesting profile (HP). Which mould are you using?

So far, I like what I read. You've added a very human touch to the history and the photography drives it home. Very nice indeed. Don't rush your work or rush to get it published.

There's also some whackadoodle gizmo on the frame between the loading lever plunger and the ball cutout. Wazzup with that? :icon_scratch:

Tim, that cylinder looks a tad short. Could that be a Navy model?

Sam Elliot is great in westerns. Another one that had the potential to be great was Bruce Dern but he got too much hate for shooting John Wayne in The Cowboys. I never understood that. It was a movie for cryin out loud. You'd think he shot him in real life.

He played the villain well...a little to well, if you ask me! I recall a number of westerns he played in where his character pissed me off. (7+"

Currently watching this again. And it's still just as good, if not better.

I finally watched this a while back, and then again recently, because it was so damn good! The only one I found mildly disturbing was the "look Ma, no arms, no legs" thespian that his daddy ended up taking for a swim. Bad karma off that one, gents. Really enjoyed Buster, and the old prospector as well. "She got rattled" was kind of an O.Henry-ish twist to it as well. Great flick.

One of the lesser-known 'Duke' classics...John Wayne is at the top of his game in this post-ACW classic about an Army lifer nearing retirement. You can really tell the director (John Ford) cared about the story and imagery, compared to a lot of the serialized brain-dead crap that came out around that time. The cinematography and scenic landscape shots were really impressive, shot in Technicolor. If you're a Duke fan, and haven't seen this film, you're missing something.
