FYI - bought new Pietta wedge screw and it worked perfectly.

Hi, my new Pietta 1851 Squareback ordered from Dixie Monday just came in the door.However, the brass is somewhat stained and not typical of recent Pietta revolvers received.

I believe that's silver plate.
Here are my two for comparison. 1862 Police on top, 1849 Pocket on the bottom.
Hawg Said: Pietta however uses the 1851 frame and smooth .36 cylinder for their so called pocket navy/police. So the Pietta pocket navy is really a short barreled full size navy which never existed back in the day which is also what you have in the pic.
The pistol above the '62 Police appears to be a short barreled 1851 Navy, not a '49 Pocket.
Actually the 62 is the same size as the 49 only it's a .36 caliber with a rebated cylinder.
