A beaded sheath is a great accessory for a flintlock. That one looks nice. Good find.

I recently got these modern made spear points. I was intending to make a neck/patch knife out of one but they're too big and bulky. I can't find any original points that look exactly like them. They still look cool tho. I've got a couple of pieces of elk antler that will make good handles. Whacha think? Any other ideas on what to do with them?Neanderthal bowie?
Thanks Mike. Your response sounds like a good solution. I will give it a try. I know what you mean about Colt mainsprings. I've replaced all my original Colt springs(tagged each one to what gun it came out of) and at one point in 3rd gen. Colt started using a tapered one. Worked on my friends un-altered early 1st gen and it had the heaviest mainspring I ever felt. Thanks, I wondered about those. I look forward to hearing what you find.
Marshal Will, I will probably use the Wolf springs as a starting point as many of my guns have them. Even the newer standard Uberti springs aren't much heavier.
The replacement nipples I installed were some I ordered from DD4lifeUSMC several years ago. Capt. Kirk, Hawg, Len and a few others here remember him. He was a seller of BP supplies and a friend of mine. The nipples were from Butler Creek Muzzle Loading. The package description said 6 x.75 Stainless Steel Nipple. They should have worked but nothing is ever guaranteed.Yeah, that aluminum follower does look like it's overkill. A wooden dowel with a pin to keep it from going into the lifter would work as well.
Marshal, I have seen people put a wood dowel in the magazine tube to keep the follower away from your hand. First time I've heard of someone going to the trouble of machining an aluminum follower.
