just had to take a different path to arrive there
I believe now that Mrs. Drifter has changed some of our computer settings w/o enlightening me as to that fact.

loaded up another box of T7 .38 Spl ammo (ran out of bullets @ 52) for my stainless Peacemaker.

congratulated my wife and myself for surviving Alabamas' "blizzard of 2017" ( 1/2"-3/4" of ice and snow....Governor declared a state of emergency Thursday afternoon for this event)

all it took with mine was increasing the vent diameter, and chamfering the hole a bit.........by the time I hear "click", the main charge is sending the ball downrange.......I must get my wife or grandson to film this so I can post it, this rifle has the fastest ignition sequence ive ever seen.

got mine cheap +/- 20 yrs ago because I had to replace one lock spring with a shaved down flintlock frizzen spring  and replace a couple screws from the antique screw jug........

I get basically instant lock time from my Pedersoli Kentucky .50 using real BP main charge.......& don't "ram" the ball/Minnie any harder than absolutely necessary to seat it......tightly packed powder explodes more slowly than a charge that has even minimal "breathing" room between the grains.

First of all you're not doing it any favors shooting modern shells out of it as it most likely has chambers between 2 1/2 - 2 9/16 inches. When it's fired the crimp will open up over the forcing cone raising pressure drastically. There's no difference between high brass and low brass. There used to be but not for many years, now high brass is a marketing ploy. That's not a serial number, it's an assembly number.

yeah......had to tighten and reset the action when I got it.........it does fine on low velocity (what we all call low brass around here) #1 buckshot......the barrels are steel, not twist.
funny, Dixie Gun Works didn't mention it was an assembly number when I asked them to date it for me a couple decades ago ($10 charge for that).
anything else chapping you about my shottie?

nice old shotguns you have btw.........I gotta get my '97 Winnie back from loanout someday

This is my old N.R.Davis & Son 12 gauge that I still shoot low brass in occasionally......

every single part  on this gun carries this lonely single digit serial number
