Hi, I am so pleased with my LeathersmithMike's holster that I ordered a lined natural leather belt from Mike to match the holster.

Wildlife laughs at me when my gear doesn't match. They won't laugh now.

Regards,
Richard

Hi, the new LeathersmithMike's belt with Mike's holster:

The belt matches the holster perfectly and the leather work is impeccable. If you love your BP revolver you will do it justice having a quality holster and belt. Mike does such good work:

Hi, dovetailing the front sight of the engraved Pietta .44 1851 went so easy, it got me thinking about doing the same for another Pietta .44 1851 I own. Slam bam thank you mam, it's done, see:

The engraved 1851 is on top.

Now I can accurately shoot .45 Colt from each of these revolvers. And yes, I have two Howell 1860 .45 Colt conversion cylinders.

Regards,
Richard

Hi, the Pietta Engraved .44 1851 was taken out back and sighted in @25yds for using the.45 Colt conversion cylinder. The sight needed to be filed down to have poi=poa. Accuracy with this .44 1851 is excellent. This is the revolver with the front sight filed down (compare against the sight as installed above):

I now have only one more Pietta .44 1851 with the taller dovetail front sight that needs to be sighted in, that should occur tomorrow.

Regards,
Richard

Hi the second dovetail tall front sight Pietta .44 1851 with .45 Colt conversion cylinder was sighted in. I found it interesting that this 1851 front sight ended up taller than the engraved .44 1851 sighted in yesterday. Nice 2" groups from 25yds where poi=poa. This completes my tall dovetail sight installation from late last year. The outside temperature is 60F, for February here - WOW! The .45 Colt loads shot aren't lightweights. My knuckle now has a large black and blue bruise where the trigger guard smacks it. Shooting lots of the .45 Colt is sometimes punishing, but I love how those 250gr bullets sound on steel. Shooting the .36 revolvers with either C&B or 38 Special is like shooting a .22. The last .44 1851 sighted in:
