Factory Ammunition Supply.
« on: June 28, 2021, 02:26:45 PM »
Ammo is showing up more and more here. At least in my area the fact that Remington is back up and running is showing as a lot of Remington ammo is appearing in the gun stores.

How is the supply in you area?

Ammo is available...at elevated prices still.  My handloads with old stock primers and cast bullets are cheaper to shoot than .22LR  at current prices.

Supply here is sporadic at best. Prices are through the roof, if you can find what you're looking for. My friend went all the way to San Diego just for a couple boxes of .45 ACP and they were $75 a box.

It ain't over yet, boys. Lemme give you ca'tridge guys a little advice; if you don't reload, start thinking about it...not that you can find much gear or loading supplies anyway right now...but it will come back. For you percussion only fellers...start buying powder now. And when caps come back, buy them, too. Start thinking about casting your own.

I haven't been by my LGS in almost a month. Finding ammo has never been a problem but paying for it has. Prices are coming down but they're still high especially for 9mm. Last month they were 25.00 a box. 5.56 and .223 have come way down. They're back down to 13.00 a box where they were 20.00 a box.  The really odd thing is steel cased Tula .223 was 19.00 per box. That's the first time I've seen steel cased ammo higher than brass cased.

How available are reloading components in your area?

Here powder is available. What you want is sporadic. Primers are extremely high with a limit of 400.

They're not.

Powder is available. But primers aren't.

I haven't been to our local reloading shop for quite a while; I have enough of most components. I heard from a friend today that they had primers for $70.00/K. I am running low on SP primers but not to the point that I am desperate!

I went to the local Bass Pro a few weeks ago. Total utter waste of time. Completely out of EVERYTHING. I left empty handed.

No one was picking up 9mm brass at the range a couple-three years ago ( 'ceptin' me!) as they said ammo was so cheap it wasn't worth the effort. That was then, this is now!
