Hi from New Zealand
« on: June 22, 2014, 10:25:08 PM »
Hello from NZ.
Myself and my son (14 years old) both shoot Cap and ball (as well as lots of other cartridge  pistols).
We both have Uberti '58 Remingtons and I also have an Uberti Colt Walker, all in .44.

Strange how most of the Glock users (or Tupperware Guns as I like to call them) refer to BP as "flammable dirt" but are the first to crowd around at the back to watch you shoot a Flammable Dirt gun. ;)

Moved to NZ 6.5 years ago from the UK and have never looked back once, and here, unlike the UK I can own pistols again....  neat!!!

The collection...  up to now...

Uberti 1847 Colt Walker .44
Uberti "Evil Roy" 1873 .357/.38
Uberti 1851 Richards-Mason Navy conversion .38 Spec
Uberti (x2) 1858 Remington .44
Colt Huntsman .22
Colt Python .357/.38
Rossi M92 Trapper, 16" barrel .357/.38

All bought new apart from the 2 real Colts.

You may well have seen this introduction on "other" forums, if you have, sorry 'bout that.

Cheers
Gaz

Welcome to the forum.  Grab a chair, coffee is over there, grab a cup (no one is going to wait on you), get settled in and when you are comfortable, join in the conversation.

Is that a stainless Walker I see in the photo?  If so, please post a seperate thread on it.  If not, please post a seperate thread anyway.

Oh, post pictures, lots of pictures, some of the older members never learned to read.

Thank you all once again for the welcome, it's very much appreciated.

I have the only Walker down at our pistol club and love shooting it, 19-21grains of Goex is where it is most accurate but it is also quite accurate with 55grains (in between those weights it shoots like a hosepipe) but rather costly to shoot with 330 grains to a cylinder full...  but the noise and the smoke and the flames and sparks have to be experienced to be believed.

Cheers

Gaz,  if you like 19-21 grains of powder, consider getting one of the replica 1860 revolvers.  Colt styling and economical to shoot.
