Call me crazy!
« on: October 20, 2013, 08:57:13 PM »
Well, did you ever notice how, say with kids or pets, how the more attention you give, the more you get in return?
I've noticed the same with my Colts, since this forum is taking off. The more I handle them, especially the Navy, the better the action gets, and the smoother it seems (not counting the action work I did). Maybe it's familiarity, or maybe it's parts and pieces lapping themselves in, but I tell ya-when I first got this Navy the action was absolute shit! I polished and stoned the trigger and hammer and it got considerably better. But it wasn't until I started handling it every couple days that it really started to hit that 'sweet spot'. :)

I noticed this too on my 1851 .44cal Colt Brasser. It was kind of stiff. The cocking part. I got it laying right beside me when I'm watching western movies(or any movies with guns).  ;)

Uh oh.  This sounds like a news story waiting to happen:

"NAKED MAN SHOOTS TV SET WHILE WATCHING GUNSMOKE"

Wife and child rescued from neighbors home...

Police say standoff ended after four hours...

High speed foot chase through the backyard ended in arrest...

Peace is that brief glorious moment in history when everybody stands around reloading.

Guilty.
I've even bought guns based solely on their performance in movies... got my dragoons and my Quigley rifle that way. As well as others.
