Hi, Bigted on another thread asked for the differences of the Uberti 1851 compared to the Pietta 1851. Ted's request is my command.
A few measurement were made on both recent vintage .36 caliber Uberti 1851 and Pietta 1851:
Weight: Uberti 2lbs - 11.0oz, Pietta 2lbs - 12.2oz
Cylinder overall length: Uberti 1.828", Pietta 1.866"
Cylinder bearing length: Uberti 1.703", Pietta 1.730"
Cylinder Diameter: Uberti 1.533", Pietta 1.535"
Cylinder arbor to chamber: Uberti 0.097", Pietta 0.096"
Cylinder arbor hole diameter: Uberti 0.4355", Pietta 0.4375"
The arbor of the Uberti was too short where a brass button extension was installed. The arbor of the Pietta is correctly sized.
One thing note is that both revolvers have had dovetail front sights added to have poi=poa @25yds.
The revolvers, Pietta on top:
