Three Amigos
« on: November 20, 2017, 08:24:56 AM »
Yesterday some friends and I were watching the old Steve Martin/Chevy Chase/Martin Short classic Three Amigos. Great movie if you've never seen it. Now that I keep my eyes peeled for all things BP, there is a great cameo by a Walker towards the end of the film.

Martin Short gets his '73 SAA replaced with the massive Walker, which manages to throw him backwards about 12 feet with the recoil. Even more impressive is he manages to get several shots off without the loading lever coming down and locking the cylinder!  *6'

Since I haven't fired a walker, and its funnier than the truth, I'm choosing to believe the recoil is accurately portrayed.

Hi valforgettaboutit, shooting a Walker with 30gr powder, it has the recoil of a .22 handgun, not much. Even hot .45 Colt with the conversion cylinder in the Walker has the Walker recoil a popsiclecat. The heavy Walker is a very stable and accurate platform.

I agree, the Three Amigos is a hoot of a movie.

Richard

Walker has less recoil than a .44 Army due to the weight.

Yeah I figured it couldn't be that bad, but its much funnier to pretend it is.
