yes to the 2nd Gen Colt. what a POS this one has been. i have been tempted several times to rid myself of it but as the saying goes ... in for a penny ... n so on.
yes the front sight is the first penny sight i tryed. it works very well and actually hits to point of aim at 15 to 20 yards. it looks like it belongs but it is a penny cut down and i silver soldered it to the barrel.
this is the revolver i have been taken to school over. it has had one thing after the other happen ... most rite outta the box. pretty irritated over the thing being let go outta the Colt house with all the defects it had. i know it is an italian that is produced for Colt ... but ... man for a Colt ... it were BAD.
needed nipples rite off. then i found the hammer wasn't relieved enough to protrude thru the frame far enough to do its job. then after the second cylinder of lite loads the bolt/trigger spring broke. then it would and still does hang onto the caps after firing and jams things up as a result of the right side not being clearanced for the caps to fall outta the way after firing ... gonna have to grind a bit to get it to be reliable. it has just been one thing after the next ... didnt feel bad doing the penny sight on the barrel after battling with it for the longest time.
another thing this little 5 shot '62' tought me is that it will not like the ultra sonic cleaner. it will get mottled and look kinda slick but definitely ruin the pristine blue it came with. i will try to get a close up of the sight and the mottled finish ... thankyou ultrasonic cleaner. it looks cool now after being around it for awhile but nearly threw up when i first brought it up outta the cleaner after the first shooting affair...
