Verde Canyon Railroad

My brother-in-law was visiting from Michigan last week, so we took him on the Verde Canyon Railroad.

The train...

The country...

This is the depot in Perkinsville. It appeared toward the end of the movie "How the West Was Won".

When I was a young 16 year old (50 years ago), my friends' parents took us (me and their twin sons) on a rail trip from Sault Ste. Marie (Canada) to Wawa and back as it was my birthday. It was one of the best times of my life. We were allowed to go outside to the rear of the car and hang our stupid butts out in the breeze and actually enjoy the scenery below us on the left side of the train. I have always wanted to do it again, but I live very far from Michigan/Ontario these days, so I think it is not possible.

Just reminiscing.
