Hello all
« on: December 03, 2014, 01:50:25 AM »
Hello New guy on board from South east PA. I have a love for the old style of pistol like most of you I am Shure. The cartridge conversion era is what I like best. Throw a guy a gun and cartridge and say make this work. The mechanical workings they came up with are pure art in my mind. Would have liked to see the failures as well, you know they botched at least one or two. This it the stable of .45 colts and the REMI. All are repro shooters, but I think of them as kit guns just waiting to be finished.

Welcome to the forum, grab a chair and get yourself some coffee, no one is going to wait on you.  What you said about the Italian reproductions is correct, they are all kits, some need more work than others, but they all need work.

Guys on this forum like pictures (some of them don't know how to read words.)

Welcome from Colorado.  I see you found your way over from the 1858 Remington forum.   Glad you could find us here.

Glad you made it! Every time I see a guy posting pix of his Colts on the Remmy forum, well...I know they are better appreciated over here! LOL.
For some reason it seems the Remmies are far more popular with new BP shooters than open tops. BTW, I have a separate section for cartridge conversions so feel free to overload it with pictures, text, and all manner of other ills! (7&

Hello, and a hearty welcome from Wisconsin. Is that an R&D cylinder in the Remmie?

Welcome HiH, from another PA (near Hershey). I also have both Remmy and Colts, but not nearly as many as you.  But then it not quantity (I keep tellin'm) but usage time. And boy do I use mine.  Enjoy the forum.   :)
