Took the youngest to the range after church.  His first time shooting an M-1 Carbine; he seemed to enjoy it.  Then cheeseburgers and ice cream.

That's what I call brainwashing! Carry on... &\?

Shot the '51 Navy this morning. Due to the extreme fire hazard we've had all summer, today was the first day for safe shooting, after lots of rain. Still tuning the Colt. Today setting the front sight side ways and also did some gentle filing on the loading lever catch to ensure the lever to stay put under recoil.

Making hummingbird food right now. About to pour down buckets outside, and I have to go to work pretty soon.

I think I speak for most of us, when I request a review of how that bacon turns out. "Spiced Coffee" sounds fantastic.

Glad it's a new day.  Been a rough week.  Funeral on Wednesday for my cousin's 38 year old son.  Yesterday we buried my youngest son's 16 year old best friend.

Hug your kids if you can.

My sympathy goes out to you and your family Dave.   I have been through similar circumstances.   Time and family are the only things that help.

Phoned in some maximum bids yesterday. Waiting/watching to see if I win anything. The first gun on my list went for $125 more than my bid!

I recently got back from an anniversary trip with the wife. We went to Lost River State Park in WV and rented an old 1930's CCC cabin. Fantastic trip, barely anyone else in the park, just you, the wilderness, and the cabin. It was great to get away for a while, zero phone signal there. I got to pay a visit to Lighthorse Harry Lee's summer home that's built on the grounds and his sulfur spring which smells exactly the way you think it would. I highly recommend the area if you're ever looking to totally escape; it gave me some more motivation to keep hunting for gigs out in West Virginia.

Nice!

Got new tires on the Patriot - again. It came with Goodyear Wrangler all-seasons, which were garbage. By the time the Patriot had 25,000 miles on it, we had replaced 3 of the 4 tires because they had delaminated. So, we put on Yokohama Geolandar AT-S tires on. Decent handling off-road capable tires. Problem was, they were a 50,000 mile tire, and we went through two sets in 70,000 miles. Now I put on Continental Terrain Contacts. 60,000 mile tire, more aggressive tread. We'll see how they do.

Ok. Got a cord and a half of dry mesquite stacked up out of the weather. I still have a half a cord of greenish mesquite to stack on the other side of the woodshed. Plus a lot of small stuff and bark to gather up for kindling. Right now, I'm going to go collapse. I may take a shower first.
