This certainly is habit forming.....
« on: August 06, 2016, 01:17:49 PM »
Bought my first Navy in March... The second a couple of weeks later....have put A LOT of rounds through them since.. Went to the range at 8 this morning to turn money into smoke before it got hot.. But dang it is fun... And the help I received here in the form of information and advice has been much appreciated!

Well I am seeing a lot more of Dixie Gunworks and Midway .. Brownells , Cabellas etc than I used to... But on the plus side... It's pretty hard to spend too much on ammunition in an hour to 90 minutes on the range.. But it's also cheaper than a sports car..

I think it's hard to be a "dabbler" when it comes to black powder shooting.  I think you either get swept up in it, or you don't like it much at all.  Me - I'm swept up like most guys on this forum.  Glad you're having fun with it.

I'm happy to inform you Suntiger, that you have passed over the threshold to becoming a died in the wool BP shooter - that is, shooting one and wanting MORE!  It's all down hill from here

Hi Captain, IMO we are all addicts in serious need of intervention. We need some type of a twelve step program.   &\? &\? &\?

My current twelve step program is to aquire twelve BP revolvers and then reset the count to add another twelve, over and over and ......

Richard

It's been a great thing .. But it's kind of coming home .. In the early 70s I built a flintlock rifle out of individual parts ordered from Dixie... Turner Kirkland was a great American..but it rounds out my other shooting , and there is just something special about the Navies...
Of course I could quit any time I wanted to..right?

Didn't make it to the range today , but do find myself sitting in the den, breaking down the navies even though they really don't need cleaning... Just felt like doing it .. Nothing out of the ordinary , right?

No, that's a normal part of the addiction process. (7+"
