Ivory knife handles

Picked up a pair of elephant ivory silver mounted handles for $7 each the other day to make into a a bowie/dagger pair

That ivory looks to be well preserved (kept in a dark clean place) or recent, which may be trouble.   Actually looks like maybe Sheffield cutlery which has been well taken care of.    If so $7.00 a piece is a great find.   They will make nice knife handles.

Not recent pre WWII Sheffield cutlery. Carving knife and fork set probably kept in a drawer for 50 years

Company was out of business right after WWII and I doubt they made anything during it

I was a bit out of touch for a while relocating but things are better now. I have some nice cutlery handles going to make some knives from - store bought carbon steel blades and old handles - plus some old stag -you can get a nice old stag handle in eBay for $5 with a silver collar if you don't mind pulling the carving fork out of it
