My Baby
« on: December 02, 2013, 05:15:23 PM »
Here is my Baby Dragoon; it is a new gun as I still haven't shot it. This is a Uberti gun and I decided to put some "age" on it. This is the first and only gun that I have or will ever treat this way.

Hi mazo, what did you do to take a perfectly new excellent looking firearm and turn it into something that may be found in a landfill?  *6' *6' *6'

I'm kidding, I'm kidding.

I would like to try antiquing one of my BP revolvers.

Regards,
Richard

From what little I know about the 1848 revolver, there were three variations, just like the Dragoons. The 1st and 2nd models had square back trigger guards, while the 3rd model had a rounded trigger guard. Please correct me if I am wrong.

That is the case with the Regular Dragoons, Mazo. 1st and second had square TG's, thirds had round. 1st had oval stop notches, second and third had square notches. Not sure if the baby's followed the same pattern. Fingers McGee or Straw Hat....what say you?

Also, some of the babys had loading levers (like mine) and others did not.

So, is my gun an 1849 and not a baby dragoon? And what would be the differences, other than a round trigger guard and loading lever?

Thanks for the info. I had made a typo (just cleaned that up) in my post, I meant 1849 not 59.
