This is the 25-25 Stevens cartridge. Yes, I do have brass and reloading dies for it. Also have some vintage original ammo, but probably won't shoot that any time soon!

Em, your photos got me to thinking...I promised you way back when I was gonna get you some pix of the new (used) Great Plains flinter. And since I had it out to check the serial number on that Lyman recall notice, I took her out back on the deck before the sun set and snapped a quick few.

I got this last December on a whim...I was watching a bunch of videos with a western gun club having a gas shooting flinters and caplocks...I decided I absolutely HAD to have one, though truth be told, I'd been jonesing for one for decades. Long story short; I found one and bought it. So here it is:

And here is the video that got my motor runnin'...

Congratulations on a fine flinter! That one was always on my wish list before I got my custom and semi-custom flintlocks. They made them in a left hand version! And yeah, I have watched that particular video on a couple of different occasions. You may recognize Mike Nesbitt in some clips, he writes for some black powder magazines.

I did recognize Mike. And there are quite a few videos from the same group, "Folk Firearm Collective"...all on YouTube. All really good.

I love the expression on the face of that gal when she touches the flintlock off!

Shootemup, that is a nice pair of double action Colts! At one time I had about 10 of those, only one 38 though.

Got my Dragoon and 1860 Army back from Goons yesterday. This is just a teaser pic. I'll do an in depth post in a day or so, when I get back from vacation. To say I'm impressed is a vast understatement!
