I pretty much use the same load all the time. 25gn in the .36's and 30gn in the .44's. Except for the Dragoon. I go 35gn in that usually. Unless I just want to have a little fun, I go to 40gn for more smoke and boom.

I pretty much use the same charges as Fingers and Dave. Except for my Dragoon.....I haven't shot that yet!
If I'm just punching paper or ringing gongs at 20-25 yards I might drop a couple of grains.

I pretty much use the same loads all the time but I never drop below 25 grains in a 36 unless it's brass and I hardly ever shoot those. 35 grains in 44's.

I am right with you Dave. Have been using these charges since I got started in the 1970s. No since damaging hte gun. As we both know, with brassers you have to especially be careful.

Right tljack. If you're shooting brass framed guns, you'll need to back those charges off. But I very rarely shoot the single brasser I have.

I've got two brass .36's. One I almost ruined shooting 25 grain loads in. A Remington navy. I haven't shot it in years. The other one is a G&G. I haven't shot it but a handful of times with 15 grain loads. Some people say they use 20 grain loads but I don't trust them.

I'm with you Hawg. 15gn for a brasser. Hardly seems worth the effort to shoot. That's why I never shoot mine.

It's not worth it. 15 grains is a pop tink load. I like a bang clang load.
