More Bad News

Seen on another forum today...Hodgdon has announced the closing of the Goex plant in Camp Minden, LA. This does not sound good, as Goex has been the major supplier for black powder for many years.

Every major supplier on my list now shows "out of stock" on 2F and 3F powder, all brands as of 5 a.m. this morning.

GOEX is the only AMERICAN-based plant. All the gub'mint has to do is ban the import of black powder from other countries. The only ray of hope we have is that our military still uses black powder for ejection seats, some battleship guns, and other military uses. Current language requires military grade black powder to be manufactured within the US for those purposes, however...the stroke of a pen could change that. Scheutzen and Swiss are both manufactured outside the US and imported.
As far as subs go...I don't know if they are manufactured at this plant or at the smokeless plants. Being as how Pyrodex and other subs are considered 'propellants' like smokeless, rather than 'explosives' like black powder, I would hope the BP plant was a separate entity.
