Your favorite Colt revolver?
« on: February 18, 2015, 11:10:56 AM »
Hi, what is your favorite Colt revolver? While I love to fondle my 1849 Colts, the 1851 is quickly becoming my favorite.

What is your favorite Colt?

Regards,
Richard

For me, it is a toss up between the 1861 Improved Navy and the 1862 Pocket Police.  As much as I like the 1860, I really like the 36 caliber look-a-likes.

My pair of second generation 1861 Navies, followed by my pair of second generation 1851 Navies, followed by my pair of 3rd Generation Artillery model SAAs in .45 Colt; and the SAAs are rapidly gaining ground.  17 gr fffg in a 45CS case with a 200 grain RN is an awesome CAS load.

But this my newest favorite, a .36 Pietta 1851:

Hi Sam, I do that myself. While most of my firearms are in a gun safe, I do keep ~10 BP revolvers on display in my living room. They are under glass in a short bookcase. That way I can get to observe them every day without needing to wipe them down because of handling. The saliva flows and I always need to swallow often. IMO there's nothing more beautiful to a shooter than the appearance of a Colt style revolver. I must admit to also displaying a few Remingtons, but they don't have the style and beauty of a Colt.

Colts rule when it comes to a sensual handgun.

Regards,
Richard
