Got a 2nd CVA Tower Pistol
« on: March 02, 2015, 12:50:46 PM »
Stopped by the local gun shop to see what they had in the case. They had a used Pietta 1858 with 5.5" barrel. Great shape, but they wanted new Cabela's price for it.

They also had a Jukar-made CVA Tower Pistol in the case for less than $40. Now I have a matched pair...

The new Tower Pistol...

The other Tower Pistol...

They aren't quite the same, though. Anyone spot the major difference?

Drum and cone vs bolster and cone, and one is missing a ramrod.

Tha ramrod doesn't count, The old one just didn't have the ramrod in place when the pic was taken.

Also, different lock plate.

Took it apart this afternoon to see the insides. With the exceptional fit and finish, this was either factory built, or built by someone who gave a darn about the end result. Besides discover the inside of the lock needs cleaned, I discovered it has an adjustable sear/trigger, which I did not expect.

All Spanish...

The top two are currently being worked on to fix fit/finish issues. I will be doing something with the rough finish on the bottom one, but otherwise it's good.
