Thanks Mike, they should be around for a while, or I am hoping that. We try to stagger the ages of our dogs, on older and one younger. That way we always have one learning and one teaching. It helps with some continuity and unless something very drastic happens, means we will always have at least one dog. And that helps when the inevitable happens and a dog heads out to be with our ancestors. Herself and I have buried three dogs, in our garden beds, where they will be watched over as long as we are alive. Hopefully, we will add a few before they greet us with wagging tails and lolling tongues wanting to be petted and played with and taken on long walks.
